Creamy hot cocoa

One of my favorite home made hot cocoa recipes, such a nice beverage on a cold winter day..i hope everyone is doing well...stop by sometime.

Ingredients
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
Directions
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.

  1. Hi Cilla Sweetie...
Good Morning to you sweet friend. What a warm share this morning. Yummy. Now if that was only legal for a diabetic I would be SO happy. Do you have a sugar free version?

I will use this recipe to make some for the grands on Christmas Eve when they come for the reading of the Christmas Story. I know they will love it.

Everything looks so festive over here. I can see you are getting into the holiday spirit sweet friend.

Hope you have a gorgeous week. I am working on getting the house ready for the holidays. Bring me up to date on what you have been up to.

Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry
